How to Make Banana Cake Recipe

Make Banana Puree

  • Mash 4 medium to large ripe or very ripe bananas with a fork to a smooth consistency. I have used very ripe bananas for this recipe
  • Note: The consistency should be smooth without any lumps, so you can also use a blender to puree the bananas if required.
  • Add ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup any neutral-flavored oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the spice mixture.
  • Stir well so that the oil gets mixed into the banana puree and the sugar dissolves completely

Make Batter

  • Sift 1½ cups all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp baking soda and 1 tsp salt in a bowl.

  • Note: If you don't have a strainer, you can use a fine mesh strainer or colander.
  • Mix well the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and fold using the cut and fold method.

  • To see how to make the batter using the cut and fold method, watch my video on the recipe card above or below.

  • Note: Do not mix! If the batter seems too thick, add some water, almond milk or light coconut milk.
  • The amount of water to be added depends on the quality and texture of the whole wheat flour and the consistency of the batter, if the batter seems too thick add additional liquid
  • 10 almonds finely chopped and folded add half cut

  • Note: Apart from almonds, you can also add raisins, pistachios or any dry fruits and dry fruits of your choice.

Bake Eggless Banana Cake

Pour batter into a greased or lined loaf pan (7.5 x 4 x 2.5 inches) or round cake pan (7.5 x 2 inches).
Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Timing varies from oven to oven, so keep that in mind

Note: If the top of the cake starts to brown too much, cover the top with aluminum foil or parchment paper while baking.

Tip: If you don't have an oven, bake the cake in a stove-top pressure cooker. To make this Banana Cake follow the instructions listed in this detailed post on Pressure Cooker Cake
